Farewell Chorely, Hello Southport
Hello!
A lot has happened since last p-day, and i'll only be able to skim the surface of what emotions have gone through me, and the experiences that I have had.
For starters, I love my MTC family soooo much! They are all amazing, have supported me so much, and are such strong people. I especially love my district. I was able to grow so close to them, and they have become best friends to me. It was really difficult to say goodbye to them. It was almost like saying goodbye to my family all over again. It amazes me how close we came just within the 2 1/2 weeks we were at the MTC. I would definitely classify every single missionary there as family (I can say that because there was only ~22 of us there after the other districts left last week. But even from those districts I became really close to)
We had a testimony meeting on Sunday, and it was the most powerful experience I've probably ever had. Love emanated through the room, and every single person was in tears at the end. Saying goodbye was so hard.
The spirit truly carried that love to the hearts of everyone there. Especially President Bunker. He is the best, and I love him so much. However, he was very rude at the end... he asked me if I would lead the closing him, 152. I agreed not realizing it was "God Be With You 'till We Meet Again". So, I finished the testimony meeting as I saw everyone I loved and experienced so much with, and all of us sweating from our eyes. It was really hard, and I'm sure i only sang like two actual sentences.
On Monday morning, we got up at 4:45 to say our goodbyes, eat breakfast, and catch our bus to the mission home. I'm slightly glad it was so early, because my tear ducts were not awake yet. We loaded the bus and headed to the Mission Home. The Mission Home, was amazing, we met President and Sister McReynolds. They are so loving and inviting. We did some training with them and the assistants, they fed us Lunch, and then we headed off to the stake center to meet our trainers.
I was assigned to Elder Carroll, and our area is Southport. He is a great man, and very in tune with the spirit. So far we are getting along really well. I suspect that I will learn a lot from him in the weeks to come. (which this transfer is actually 7 weeks instead of 6, because of Christmas and New Years) So, I have moved into the flat. P-day is normally on Monday, but because of transfer scheduling, they moved it to today! So I get to write you all!
As I said, P-day is normally Monday, so if you all write me on Saturday, I'll be able to get them Sunday at church (we don't have wifi in the flat), and then read them on Monday. I'm also not allowed to read them during the week now.
I love you all!
Cheers,
