Burns 2 Burnley
Hi all!!
Wow, this week was a bit different, I would say! Well, maybe not this week, but these past few days for sure! With that, I don't have too much time for emailing today, here's why.
We received a call yesterday informing that I would be transferred out of Telford and head up to the land of Burnley. A little shocked that I was leaving (both Elder Rice and I were sure that we would stay together), Elders Miller and Cox surprised us even more. Elder Rice is also leaving to Kendal, and sisters are coming to replace us! We were quite surprised. Since that time, we have been under so much pressure to "make our flat Sister worthy". Apparently Sister Graham (she is whitewash training, so we won't know the other until tomorrow) is very scared about moving into an Elder flat
We keep it very clean, but we've been going even deeper, whilst both of us packing up everything!
We have had calls from our Zone leaders, the mission office, and Sister McReynolds to make sure we cleaned up and made it white glove spotless! The pressure is on...
It will be sad to leave Telford. I've grown to love this area so much, even though I didn't always notice it. The people hear have been amazing! I will miss them all, but I'm sure good things await in Burnley. Apparently it "is not so nice as Kendal", but I won't let that get me down. I've been told it's more city like and close to the temple, so I'm exited! I'll actually be in the Chorley Zone, so woot!
I'm hoping that the sisters will be able to transition easily. We've been working with Derrick and he is doing so well! I don't remember if I mentioned, but he agreed to work toward a baptismal date for the 15th of December, and he definitely can get there. He's a sincere follower of Jesus Christ and grateful to learn more of His gospel.
I've also been reading Jesus the Christ, and although President McReynolds classified it as "a light read"... It's not. It hasn't been the most easy for me to get through before. However, in the past short while, I've noticed my ability to comprehend the material enhanced, and I believe that's because the Holy Ghost is helping me. It's amazing as I've felt completely lost in reading, but later in a conversation relate what I had learned earlier that day. My testimony of Jesus Christ has grown and is still growing!
Well, I love you all! Gotta get back to cleaning.
Ta,
