Where did all the youth go??
Hello!
Yesterday was.... Crazy! Probably the comedic, yet spiritual highlight of the week. Before I dive in, here is some backstory.
This last Friday-Sunday was a missionary preparation weekend. From our ward, nearly all of the youth attended! (including Chloe) Everyone that attended this event, didn't get back until ~5pm Sunday evening. Now, that meant that we had no Aaronic Priesthood holders to help with the sacrament! Elder Larson and I were asked to prepare and bless the sacrament, however, there were no members to pass. The bishop went into the congregation and asked three visitors to help us. (we had about the same amount of visitors as we did locals)
Although we came from different areas of the world (Utah, Michigan, Hawaii, Wales), we still were able to perform the ordinance of the sacrament, and renew baptismal covenants. It helped me to realise what it truly means to be one. Not just one as individuals, but one as a church and one with Christ. It was special to see that the foundational doctrines and authority is the same no matter where you attend. It is the same ordinance.
I'm so grateful that I am a member of a church that receives direction directly from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I'm grateful to know that the church is the same in England, as it is in Hawaii, and as it is in Salt Lake City, Utah. I know that this is the restored and unified church of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is at the head of this church, and through a living prophet, He directs the church through all the World.
I love you all, and pray for your well-being and safety continually,
Elder Burns
