A Trip to Powis Castle (Castell Powis)
Hello all!
This week flew by! I swear it started yesterday!
I had exchanges with Elder Risk. The weather was amazing, so we wore our short sleeved shirts. We had a tea appointment, and afterward it started to rain a bit. Luckily I did have my umbrella! The rain didn't stay for long though. While we were walking about, we crossed a bridge, and saw a car wreck. It was the strangest thing, there were lights flashing everywhere, but it was silent. As far as I know everyone was alright. Elder Risk is a very fun elder and we got along very well!
This last Sunday was our ward conference. It was an amazing meeting. Not only did the speakers do an amazing job, but we also had a great miracle. Michelle and her children came to church! This was an event 20 yrs in the making. She was best friends with a member during high school and came to young women, but never to church. These two are still friends today, and played a large part in Michelle coming.
As for today, we spent our day at Powis Castle... in Wales! Sure enough, my Welsh badge came back out! We went with President and Sister Fielding. This is their last transfer, so it was a good way to spend some time with them. It was very enjoyable and very beautiful! It wasn't like the other castles, like Caernarfon and Conwy. Most are ruins or a shadow of what it used to be, but this castle is still intact, well taken care of, and fully furnished. It had amazing paintings, fancy artwork and architecture. And the gardens were amazing!
Sadly, pictures were not allowed inside the castle
I do have some from the outside though! All in all it was a great day and week.
Hope y'all are doing well! Love ya
