Zone Conference and a Baptism

This week was a great week with a great miracle!

For starters we had Zone Conference this week! This Zone Conference was a little bit different in the fact that we had a seventy, Elder Moirera, come and speak to us. He talked a lot, not just about missionary work, but how this experience can influence us after our missions in our many callings, whether it be Sunday school teacher, Bishop, relief society president, or even that of a parent. One of the main focuses was that of change, and how the biggest challenge in life is to overcome ourselves. It's a challenge that takes more than a lifetime to accomplish, so we better get started now!

Just as in playing any sport, learning any craft, or playing any instrument, it takes time, dedication, and endurance to become better at it. Sometimes, we even have coaches or teachers to help us progress at an even faster and more focused pace. Through their guidance and direction we learn to become better. Why would we need a teacher or lessons? Because we want to become the best we can. (or sometimes our parents make us because "we'll regret it later if we don't") (love ya mom and dad 😉

He also taught us that we should be wise in the way we act. If we need to accomplish a task, we should look at all the different ways to solve it, put in some creative thinking and find the best way to do it. He compared it to making a symphony. If you had to write a piece, and you only used one note at a time on the Piano, it could be a very boring piece, or at least not have it's full potential. It may carry a melody, but without the other notes and instruments, the piece would a lack a brilliance that could come from a well thought out, orchestrated piece. Use all the instruments you can, get creative, and find that magical piece.

I also mentioned a miracle! This week we had very happy news. Kim, one I was teaching while I was in Southport, was baptised this last Saturday!! This was a long awaited day. It was unfortunate that I couldn't be there, but I was able to call her on Sunday evening. She seemed very happy and changed. I'm so happy that, despite difficulties, she was still able to follow the example that Jesus Christ set by being baptised! Miracles, people, miracles.

As for today, we went out as a district and hiked The Wrekin. It's a mountain (aka hill) that is here in the area. While not the tallest that I've hiked, it still had amazing views from the top! It was a really fun, yet exhausting activity.

Oh! And I also played the organ in church... Pedals and everything. That was a fun challenge (hopefully they don't think I can play all songs on the organ 🙃

Whelp, I love you all and hope that you all have a fantastic week!!
