A new transfer, a new destiny
Hiya! New transfers are always a fun, new experience. I didn't really notice until today when we finally met the new district! As our usual first p-day activity, we hiked the Wrekin again! This experience was completely different from last time! Instead of sun and an endless view of the Shropshire plains and rolling hills, we had a cold mist and breeze to accompany our lunch atop the hill. We started the hike sweating and tired, reached the peak and slowly merged to cold and wet, then ended the hike still wet, but good temperature wise. It was fun!
Another highlight: yesterday between Sacrament meeting and Sunday school, we were asked if we could teach Young Women! We agreed to (without really agreeing). We couldn't prepare for the lesson, because we were asked to take the sacrament to some people during the Sunday school hour. We got back about 5 minutes to the hour.
Remember how I said we agreed to teach, without really agreeing? Yeah, well we thought they had it covered... but we were wrong. So, we hopped into Young Women's. This was a landmark for me, as it was my first time attending the Young Women's class. It was a fun lesson about Christlike Attributes, and how we cannot fail if we build our foundations on Christ, and work slowly but surely at our Character flaws. As we do so, we overcome those flaws and they become character strengths! With diligent effort on our parts, we become, step by step, closer to perfection.
It really stuck out to me the 'why' of Christlike Attributes. It's not just becoming a well rounded person, but it truly is working our way toward perfection, which is in all actuality our purpose here on Earth.
I love you all and wish you a great week!
