Planning in a new light
This last week was crazy packed! We had Zone Conference, exchanges with the Zone Leaders, a bathroom renovation, and a talk in Sacrament meeting on Missionary work.
Zone Conference had a big focus on how we plan for our week. This put my experience into a whole new light. They stressed the importance of planning and how it is a principle we will be required to use both in and outside of the mission field. It was amazing to see the changes as we implemented some of the planning tactics they gave us.
Elder Rice and I completely revamped our weekly planning board and planned with our priorities first in line. As we placed times for each of these appointments throughout our week, we noticed a consistently empty teaching pool grow into a very full week! (Now it's up to the agency of others as to whether or not the appointments fall through)
"If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail" We also introduced a fellowshipping calendar at church yesterday, so people could sign up for days they'd be available to help us teach. We had really been struggling to find members to help, but after receive that revelation through council, we have people available to help teach for each appointment this week! I'm really excited for the work that's being done here! Especially as the members help find, teach and bring lost sheep to Jesus Christ.
I am grateful to be His servant.
Other notable things: daylight saving time! So now the sun goes down by 4:40 (soon to be 3 in December)
Our bathroom shower had been leaking for ages. They've come in 4-5 times to fix it, but they've always beat around the bush, looking for the cheapest fix. Well, none of them solved the problem. So on Saturday we were stuck in the flat as the plumber came to fix up the tub. We couldn't take a proper shower Sunday, so we filled up the sink and used it as a bird bath.... that was interesting. Luckily our shower is up and running again!
Whelp, that's my week! Love you all!
