All Summer in a Day

Hello!!

Guess what?? The sun came out!! But we'll get to that...

So, this week we had our Zone Conference, but this one was special. We were visited by Elder and Sister Sabin. Elder Sabin is a general authority seventy, and in the Europe Area Presidency. Later this year, he will become the president of the Europe Area. He is a very wise man and has a good knowledge of the scriptures. If you watch General Conference you've probably heard him before. He gave the talk "Stand Up Inside and Be All In" in the April 2017 conference.

It was a good experience learning from him. Now, as it always tends to happen, the same day we had zone conference was the first day of sun we've had in weeks! We could see and enjoy the sun from the chapel windows, but were inside most the day. We also had a teaching appointment that night at our chapel, so literally the whole day was in a chapel or bus. (Luckily, the sun stayed out the next few days too, so we still got to enjoy some before the clouds came back)

Speaking of that teaching appointment, it was so good!! This family was a referral from the sisters in Manchester. We decided to give them a chapel tour, and during which, she shared with us the feelings that came to her as she read the Book of Mormon, and it perfectly described the Spirit. When we finally made it to the baptismal font, they asked us, "How long will it take us to learn everything so we can be baptised?" We hadn't really even shared much about baptism before, so we were so surprised to hear this. They also shared about Jesus Christ and the prophecies of His birth, including that it would be to a virgin mother. Where did they learn these?? They read the Book of Mormon!!

We had planned to read some of the first chapters of the Book of Mormon with them, but when we started teaching them they had already read all of them! It was literally so good to see this! This family didn't really have a Christian background and didn't know the stories of Christ, so this experience just showed me that the Book of Mormon really is another testament of Jesus Christ.

That lesson was probably the highlight of my week!

So, yeah, read the Book of Mormon! Read the Bible! They work together to testify of Christ. A knowledge of our relationship to God and Jesus Christ will completely change our purpose and focus in life. We will see greater light come into our life because of it.
