Eccles

Hello all!

I'm running short for time, and not too much happened this week, so I will be short.

This past week we discovered a hidden gem in our area... Eccles. This place is gold for missionaries. We went down there on exchanges to go by a referral, and while we were there we did some tracting and had some amazing conversations, which ended with more people to teach. A few days later we finished tracting the same street and found a wonderful family who let us in on the first door approach!! (Fyi, that is the 2nd time on my mission)

So Eccles was really great! We've been working to build up the area, and it's slowly but surely getting there.

Also, last Preparation Day, we went to an old library here in Manchester (the John Dalton Library). I was mainly expecting amazing architecture and a good selection of books, but I discovered something even more amazing. Yes, the architecture was phenomenal, and the supply of books with varying ages and sizes impressive, to me, they were not the highlight of the trip. My highlight was a piece of parchment smaller than my hand.

What was on this parchment? Well, first off, it was dated to be from the first half of the 2nd century AD, and on it were the words of the the Gospel of St John. It is, perhaps, the oldest surviving record of this great work of the New Testament. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take pictures of it, but it was amazing to be so close to such a great work. It was a special experience that I wasn't expecting.

Well, I love you all!

See miracles. Be miracles.
